Boy am I bad about updating this thing. I'm sorry to my one subscriber.
Let's see. In June, Dr. C told me that Viral load testing was improved to be accurate down to 20 copies. I'm still "undetectable" but we now know that my VL is <20 not just <48.
In June, my CD4 count was in th 120's where it had been hovering for several months. I just had a check up last week... Viral load still <20. And I *finally* had a jump in my CD4 count. I'm now in the 150's. I'm hoping this is a sign that My T-cells will start increasing a little each test again.
So for now, I'm still on Atripla and the one antibiotic that I don't mind taking.... Bactrim.
I noticed on my last refill for my Atripla that the price has increased! It had been about $1500 a month. it's now just over $2,000. Damn greedy pharmaceutical companies! Thank goodness for Medicare. I just hope the government doesn't screw up things like that and Social Security. The way things are going I'm fearful that they could be either royally fucked up or completely eradicated. thanks to the MF republicans.
Last December I had my last MRI. I was still in the clear. My oncologist said that most patients who relapse do do within a year and a half. At that point it had been two year in remission so he felt I was probably going to stay in remission with my HIV under control and immune system getting stronger. My next scan is in December. a whole year between MRI scan! That was a nice change. each scan was getting progressively longer- 3, then 6, and 8 months. so I was expecting ten. not 12 months. Yay!
